Q&A: Does anyone know a good Medical Malpractice Attorney? Must be in TN or a contiguous state?
Question by xxtrmskier1: Does anyone know a good Medical Malpractice Attorney? Must be in TN or a contiguous state?
I currently represent myself (pro se) to preserve my rights but I am not an attorney. I suffered a closed-head injury to the hypothalamus that went undiscovered and the symptoms ignored by Drs when presented. Drs. never evaluated and head, spine , c-spine after traumatic high speed crash. They only treated obvious injuries, i.e. ruptured achilles heel, ruptured hamstrings complete destruction of quadriceps, complete destruction of gluteas maximus muscle, complete separation of sciatic nerves from spine and significant, obvious from CT Scan, frontal impact damage to brain. previous to this accident I weighed 172 lbs and now weigh 96 lbs and continue to have difficulty keeping food/water down, extreme homeostatic temperature changes varies from 89.4 to 104.7, I need help that is beyond my reach. Accident happened 5/5/05 and I need all the help I can get. I do not qualify for Tn Asst. because I am white, single ,have no dependants a category for my position does not exist. Help PLZ

Question by WEEZ: Would an expert witness bother to set up a consultation with my attorney if he didn’t think there was a case?
I was wondering if anyone might know whether or not the expert witness surgeon that looked at my medical records would bother to set up a consultation with my attorney if he didn’t think there was a case? Would he not just tell him over the phone, “No negligence.” ? Thanks alot

Choosing a Medical Malpractice Attorney
Article by Erich Shrefler
Falling victim to medical malpractice is a painful and traumatic experience. Patients rightly put a large amount of trust in doctors, and when that trust is violated, the results can be permanently damaging. Proving medical negligence, or medical malpractice can be difficult, and it takes an experienced lawyer to be able to tell the difference between a worthy case and a frivolous lawsuit. Frivolous lawsuits actually hurt the chances of credible medical malpractice suits from having success and good attorneys should avoid them. If you have been the victim of medical malpractice, finding a lawyer to represent your best interests is of the highest importance.

My mom died of lung cancer. She may have had more time if her doctor hadn’t failed to diagnose and treat within a reasonable amount of time (1 year 8 months before any treatment!).

Q&A: What type of attorney do we need?
Question by Welcome Eden Quade! 4/21/2009: What type of attorney do we need?
Ok, so we have twins in the NICU (17 weeks early). They called us in one day to have a meeting and told us that my husband is not allowed to see our girls without an armed escort and for one hour a day ONLY between the hours of 3pm and 4pm and he’s not allowed to go anywhere else in the hospital (not even the cafeteria for food) and he has to go through a metal detector when he goes in. All of this is because a few nurses think he “looks intimidating and he doesn’t say much” which makes them “unable to work” when he is around.I just want to know if his parental rights come into play here. Is he being discriminated against?? Should he be allowed to see his kids?? He can’t help the way he looks. It isn’t like he doesn’t smile or isn’t nice… He’s never done ANHTHING out of line in anyway. The only thing he does is ask for updates on the girls and make sure they are ok. Then he just sits with the girls and watches them. (It’s all we can do they are still too small to touch/hold)
Chicago Medical Malpractice Attorney Says Better-Informed Decisions Will Result from Access to Physician Profiles

Chicago, IL (PRWEB) October 03, 2011
A new online database listing the disciplinary, criminal and malpractice histories of all Illinois doctors and chiropractors will go live later this fall ? and it will give patients an added layer of protection against negligent practitioners, Chicago medical malpractice attorney Patrick A. Salvi said today.
?This will be valuable new tool for the public to use in their search for qualified physicians,? said Salvi, whose Chicago medical malpractice law firm, Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard P.C., represents clients in negligence claims throughout Illinois, including Cook County and Lake County.

Q&A: How long do Dr’s have to release medical records to an attorney after they receive the release?
Question by krystinak4903: How long do Dr’s have to release medical records to an attorney after they receive the release?
I am suing a Dr for malpractice & Negligence, and I signed the papers to release medical information for my son, however I know (I’m was a medical assistant- I just don’t remember the answer to my own question lol) there is a certain amount of time that Dr’s are “allowed” to present the records. How long is that?? I can’t remember, and its driving me nuts. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!!
No, there is certain set time set..legally. That they have to release the records…its like 60 days, or 6 months or something, but there is SOMETHING about a certain set time…i know it is a ridiculous amount of time given Dr’s never want to give up information that could harm them. And i know since i have worked in Dr’s offices it can be done in a much smaller amount of time, but I’m trying to figure out what the max time we wait is. Thanks
I could swear in MI there is a set time…Obviously I could be mistaken, the attorney just told me that the Dr’s will take as long as they can to hand them over, and I remember when I worked in a Dr’s office they would talk about how time was “almost up” to send the records.
Retaining attorney for possible MEDICAL MALPRACTICE suit, is it advisable if?
Question by news-n-more-news: Retaining attorney for possible MEDICAL MALPRACTICE suit, is it advisable if?
suspecting some of the negligence/malpractice is due to GOVERNMENT imposed regulations such as “compliance agreements”?
In other words if I suspect_and am starting to try and prove so_that some if not all negligence against patient has been caused because of stringency in an “agreement” from hospital with government after a settlement suit won by government, what would my chances of success be in taking the case to court against hospital?
